British Tag

So I was tagged by my fave to do the British tag which I am very excited to do! Also make sure you check out Nat's blog because it is brilliant and worth a read.

1. How many cups of tea do you have a day and how many sugars?
I will usually have at least 1 a day with 2 sugars but if I am feeling lazy then I will end up going without. oops.

2. Favourite part of your roast?
Defiantly a good yorkshire pudding. They are the best creation ever but my mum only cooks them when we are having beef because that is traditional which really sucks!

3. Favourite dunking biscuit?
I do love a rich tea but we don't get them often so probably a Bourbon or chocolate digestive biscuit. Although sometimes I find it hard to get the timings right and often I end up with a soggy biscuit at the bottom of my mug.

4. Favourite quintessentially British past time?
I'm not really sure what this question means but I am going to just say tea and scones because they are the best!

5. Favourite word?
Oh I do love to say the word aquatics it is so pleasing. Nat and I love it! Also I really like the word boulevard.

6. Cockney rhyming slang?
Can you Adam and Eve it?

7. Favourite sweet?
THESE.

8. What would your pub be called?
This is soooo difficult. um... Probably something with 'Royal' in because it would make it sound posh haha.

9. No.1 British person?
The Queen is pretty cool.

10. Favourite shop/restaurant?
My favourite shop would probably be Topshop or Forever 21 and my favourite restaurant is definatly Prezzo! I highly recommend Prezzo and you can use Tesco vouchers. WIN.

11.  What British song pops into your head?
GOD SAVE OUR GRACIOUS QUEEN.

12. Marmite?
YES! I love it, I am the Marmite queen.

I tag Elana & Molly do to this next!

MTV VMAs 2014

Another year, another amazing video music awards! Last nights brilliant show was bursting with talent and was just fantastic. The show opened with a brilliant medley from Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj and the beautiful Brit Jessie J. Despite Nicki's slightly
embarrassing wardrobe malfunction, she was very professional and still the 3 fierce women delivered a great performance of their already very successful single. Taylor Swift looked beautiful and gave us a very fun and enjoyable performance off the upbeat tune of 'Shake It Off' shaking off (if you pardon the pun) lots of criticism of the new song. The audience was also treated with a delightful performance of the incredible 'Amnesia' from the sensational 5 Seconds of Summer and Queen Bee (Beyonce) did the most exciting medley of the year. Other excellent performances throughout the night included: Sam Smith, Maroon 5, Usher, Iggy Azalea and Rita Ora.

Every single award winner was very deserving. Best Lyric Video went to 5 Seconds of Summer which is no surprise and a huge achievement for the Aussie lads who are currently touring with the boys of One Direction. Ed Sheeran also went to win Best Male Video for 'Sing' which is amazing. However the most emotional part of the night was when Miley Cyrus won Video of the Year for 'Wrecking Ball' and sent her friend Jesse on to the stage to accept the award who then went on to represent homelessness. Everyone went silent and Miley looked on proudly as she wept from the side of the stage. He talked about My Friends Place which is in Hollywood and is a homeless centre for young people. Miley is a huge supporter of this cause and donations can be made here. We love Miley!

Below is a full list of the award winners:

Best Lyric Video- 5 Seconds of Summer, 'Don't Stop'
Best Female Video- Katy Perry, 'Dark Horse'
Best Male Video- Ed Sheeran, 'Sing'
Best Pop Video- Ariana Grande ft Iggy Azalea, 'Problem'
Best Hip Hop Video- Drake ft Majid Jordan, 'Hold On We're Going Home'
Best Rock Video- Lorde, 'Royals'
Artist to watch- Fifth Harmony
Video of the Year- Miley Cyrus, 'Wrecking Ball'
Video Vanguard Award- Beyonce

Well that's another year of the VMAs over, I really can't wait till next year but in the meantime we can all go over to MTV's website and watch all the videos and relive the magnificent evening over and over and over!

Also please do free to comment, I would love to here what people think... :-)

Malta!

Hello again!

Recently I have got back from a very well needed holiday for my family and I and we choose the small island of Malta to visit due to my mum being born there.

This was the first time I have ever been and we went for 10 days. The 3 hour plane journey was not bad at all and it was so exciting to finally land. Malta is very historical and has beautiful views of the sea which is lovely and it is boiling out there! I think 300 days of the year are pure sunshine which is great but I think I would be spending A LOT on sun cream if I lived there! haha. As well as this Malta and the islands next to it Gozo and Comino seem to be a celebrity hot spot...

We stayed in the Grand Hotel Excelsior which is located near Valletta and it was a beautiful and very posh hotel. I would highly recommend it and many celebrity guests have stayed there including Lady Gaga, One Republic, Rita Ora and many more! However most recently... Tom Felton most known for his hit role in the Blockbuster Harry Potter franchise. He happened to be staying there as well and I saw him standing in my lobby and instead of asking for a picture I went into total panic and walked straight past and now I regret not doing anything... so thats great!

But anyway Tom Felton was out in Malta filming for a new film called Clavius. Acting alongside Felton is Joseph Fiennes and the film is said to be a ' biblical thriller' with lots of drama kicking off 50 days after a crucifixion. It sounds quite different and it will be exciting to see them in action with their fantastic acting. The film is rumored to be out around Easter 2015 so look out for that!

As well as Tom, our taxi driver on the way to the airport told us that the legendary Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were staying on the island of Gozo. This too is for filming and according to the taxi driver the beach was closed to the public on Sunday in order for to film. This is the first time the pair have filmed together since 2005 in 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith' and I think we are all just a bit too excited!? However this is not the first time Pitt has filmed in Malta. Troy which came out in 2004 and World War Z in 2013 both starring Pitt were filmed in Malta!

Here are a list of a few other well known films shot in Malta:

1980- Popeye
1981- Clash of the Titans
2000- Gladiator
2002- Pinnochio
2006- The Da Vinci Code

Who knew that such a tiny island would be capable of such great things!

Whats your favourite film and why?
My favourite film has 100% got to be 500 Days of Summer just because it is amazing and I find it quite relatable! Also the soundtrack is perfect and I have seen it sooooo many times and it just never gets boring and the wonderful Zooey Deschanel is in it which is great. I highly recommend it!

Do you have a favourite nail polish?
I have a whole collection of nail polishes and they are mostly all from Barry M. I think Barry M nail polishes are just amazing because they are affordable and great quality. My favourite and I have definatly used the most is the colour Raspberry. In the picture it looks slightly pink but it comes out as a more burgundy colour and I think its a great colour for Autumn!

Barry M Nail Paint Raspberry
When is the last time you cried?
Hmmm I am trying to think! I remember I cried a lot when I saw The Fault In Our Stars last month so I am going to go with that. It is such a powerful film wow.

Do you have any pets? If you what are they and what are their names?
I don't actually have any pets currently but I have had a rabbit in the past called Sweep and a guinea pig called Fudge. Me and my brother are actually looking into buying a tortoise though! haha.

If you could go back in time to relive any memory which one would you choose?
This sounds so cringey but I defiantly think I would go back to when One Direction read out my tweet at their concert, it was honestly the best day ever and has made me so happy. On a more normal note though I would say when I was 11 and got my black belt, I was made up!

Are you listening to any background music whilst doing this? If so what song?
Yes, the amazing Magic- Rude is currently playing in on TV and I adore this song so much it has such a good tune and is so catchy!

Do you prefer ketchup or mayonnaise?
KETCHUP!

If you could swap lives with one celebrity for the day, who would you choose and why?
This is sooo tricky. I haven't really thought much about this but possibly Taylor Swift?! It would be great to be able to sing and think how amazing it would be to see her wardrobe..

Do you like ribbon?
Well this is random Molly ahahaha but yeah its cute I guess.

What is your view on broccoli?
I like broccoli.

tumblr or Twitter?
hmmmm well this is a tricky one as I love both and am totally addicted. However I think I have got to say Twitter because I find myself constantly checking my timeline and I have somehow managed to build a fair few followers so I love making new friends with everyone on there! They are both great though and you can check me out on both ;-) twitter tumblr

Ed Sheeran 'X' review

Hello everyone! Sorry I haven't posted in a while, I have been extremely busy with exams and just life in general but I have decided to do a short review on Ed Sheeran's new album 'X' because it is amazing and I have been really enjoying it!
Recently the whole world has been ecstatic as Ed Sheeran's new album was finally released worldwide on June 23rd after years of waiting and desperation. Immediately the album became number 1 on top of the iTunes chart in more than 65 countries including the US, Australia and Germany. The album, pronounced 'multiply' features the number 1 single in the UK 'sing' which was written by Ed himself and Pharrell Williams and creates a different sound to his usual songs as it provides more of an upbeat tune. The album also includes other songs by the name of 'Don't', 'One' and 'Photograph' all with massive potential and a possibility of hitting the top spot in the future.
My favourite though has got to be the beautiful 'Thinking Out Loud' because I think the lyrics are so meaningful and the sound is just lovely. I hope this song is released as a single shortly because despite it not having a music video, it has already entered the charts and from today it is 29th! As well as this 'Don't' is in the charts at 22. I also particularly love how Ed has done more rap especially in the song 'Take It Back' because it shows the true depth of what he is capable off and shows off his enormous talent.
All together 'X' is an incredible album and Ed has made such an improvement from his previous material on '+' (which I didn't know would be possible) and some how 'X' may even be better than '+' even though they are both truly magnificent! The songs on this album provide a different sound and it is brilliant for when you just want to relax which is great for over the summer. It is defiantly worth a listen if you have not already and I really cant wait to start seeing some more of his music videos!

MCBUSTED 24/04/14

So yesterday I went to one of my favourite concerts that I have ever been to and it was a-m-a-z-i-n-g.

Fortunately my best friend and I managed to get tickets for McBusted which was so exciting for us. Busted and Mcfly are 2 of our all time favourite bands and so when we first heard that they would be forming together we defiantly did not want to miss out on the opportunity to see them in concert!

We saw them at the amazing o2 Arena in London and had amazing seats. We were sat in block 103 and were row C which was so close to the floor seats and a few blocks along from the stage. The view was excellent and the B stage was directly in front of us so when they performed a few songs on there it was incredible and so close!

The night started off with the support act called EofE and they were a surprisingly good band. They performed some good songs to get the crowd going and their music was quite pleasant. After was Vix who recently performed on The Voice UK and is Mcfly's Danny Jone's sister. She was amazingly talented and her voice is great. I can see that she has a lot of potential for the future. Last but not least were a young band also with a lot of potential called The 3 Dudes who are from America. They are quite rocky and all played their own instruments which was good and the main singer was like looking at a mini James Bourne! haha.

After the support acts had been on it was only a short amount of time before the main event started and immediately the whole crowd were on their feet. I don't think I saw anyone sit down properly though the whole of the night and everyone was generally having a great time! There were smiles on every ones faces and the audience were a whole mixture of people ranging from young to old.
The set list was outstanding and consisted of the songs: Air Hostess, You Said No, Britney, Who's David, Five Colours, Obviously, Sleeping With The Light On, Star Girl, Nerdy, Room On The Third Floor, Thunderbirds Are Go, I Want You Back (Jackson 5 Cover), Shine A Light, What I Go To School For, Crash The Wedding, All About You and Year 3000. The stage set was amazing and throughout the show many special effects were used including fire which was using to light up the band name above the stage which was so cool (picture below). Also the B stage happened to be a UFO which came down from the ceiling. It was all very entertaining and all the boys are such wonderful performers and extremely talented.

Here are a few pictures from the night. (ignore the appalling quality, these are taken from my iPod.)
This was while the boys were on the main stage, the camera has made our seats look really far away but they honestly weren't haha!

'TRIPLE BREASTED WOMEN SWIM AROUND TOWN TOTALLY NAKED'. (Year 3000)

This night really was sensational and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it! I hope to see McBusted again soon.

The Brit Awards 2014

Yesterday evenings Brit Awards were absolutely brilliant with spectacular performances from many talented artists and different awards being given to the best stars. James Corden done a great job presenting the show at his fifth and final Brit Awards of hosting and provided a huge amount of entertainment from kissing Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw to joking around with One Direction...

Arctic Monkeys opened the show with an amazing performance of R U Mine and went on to winning 2 awards. They made the show very memorable with their slightly drunk speeches with Alex Turner joking: 'there's that 15 quid we put on One Direction down the drain' when winning the award for Best Group.

The night also saw perfect performances from Beyonce, Ellie Goulding, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Lorde & Disclosure and Bastille & Rudimental. However the performance of the night had to be the closing performance from Pharrell Williams featuring legendary Nile Rodgers creating a great medley of Get Lucky, Good Times and the chart hit, Happy!

Kate Moss was amongst the celebrity guests and made an appearance on stage when accepting the award on behalf of the David Bowie for Best British Male. Bowie became the oldest artist ever to receive a Brit at the age of 67 and other award winners included Bastille and Bruno Mars.

The 2014 Brit Award show was brilliant and intrigued a whole range of viewers across the globe as it was officially broadcasted live to the whole world.
