2015 Brit Awards!

Every year I look forward to the Brit Awards because they are one of my favourite nights of the year and 2015's were no different. The evening was live from the o2 Arena in London and we saw a whole array of superb celebrities inside the building on our television screens. The wonderful Ant & Dec hosted the night for the first time in a staggering 14 years and they were absolutely amazing! Read on for my summary and review of the crazy ceremony...

The performances this year were amazing and quite unforgettable. Taylor Swift flawlessly opened the show singing the brilliant Blank Space. Kanye made quite the impression and Ed Sheeran gave a beautiful performance of Bloodstream. Of course, the person everyone is talking about... Madonna. The Queen of pop herself returned to the Brits stage for the first time in 20 years and made quite the return. Despite the tragic tumble she persevered and very professionally carried on with the fantastic performance. She truly is a remarkable woman! Other impeccable and absolutely wonderful acts were the stunning Sam Smith, Paloma Faith, Royal Blood, George Ezra and Take That.

All the winners were incredibly deserving and Sam Smith went away with the most adding more to his award collection! Below is the full list of winners:

British Group- Royal Blood

British Female Solo Artist- Paloma Faith

British Male Solo Artist- Ed Sheeran

International Female Solo Artist- Taylor Swift

International Male Solo Artist- Pharrell Williams

British Breakthrough Act- Sam Smith

British Video- One Direction: 'You And I'

British Single- Mark Ronson Ft Bruno Mars: 'Uptown Funk'

International Group- Foo Fighters

Global Success Award- Sam Smith

Mastercard British Album- Ed Sheeran: 'X'

You can check out who I predicted would be bagging an award right here. It is defiantly worth a look!

I think it is safe to say that British music is absolutely amazing right now and there are some very talented artists who we can look forward to hearing more from in 2015!

Taylor Swift Style

It is no surprise that Style is Taylor Swift's new single and yesterday on Friday 13th Tay Tay premiered the video for the first time. Unfortunately it was leaked early but nevertheless it was enjoyed just as much by millions and has already got over 6 million views on Youtube. It is very artistic and different to Taylor's normal music videos but I do really like it! Style has been one of my favourite songs from 1989 since its release date and I am so happy that it is the next single because it is defiantly one of Taylor's best songs.

The '1989' artist has had much success with her album and is set to perform at The Brit Awards on Wednesday 25th February which I am beyond excited for! The Brits is a great night and I have already made my predictions of who I think will win which you can look at here. Swift has been nominated for International Female Solo Artist and it would be so amazing if she won!

Taylor is set to tour the UK this June and she is even headlining at Hyde Park which is massive so I really recommend getting some tickets!

The Brit Awards 2014

Yesterday evenings Brit Awards were absolutely brilliant with spectacular performances from many talented artists and different awards being given to the best stars. James Corden done a great job presenting the show at his fifth and final Brit Awards of hosting and provided a huge amount of entertainment from kissing Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw to joking around with One Direction...

Arctic Monkeys opened the show with an amazing performance of R U Mine and went on to winning 2 awards. They made the show very memorable with their slightly drunk speeches with Alex Turner joking: 'there's that 15 quid we put on One Direction down the drain' when winning the award for Best Group.

The night also saw perfect performances from Beyonce, Ellie Goulding, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Lorde & Disclosure and Bastille & Rudimental. However the performance of the night had to be the closing performance from Pharrell Williams featuring legendary Nile Rodgers creating a great medley of Get Lucky, Good Times and the chart hit, Happy!

Kate Moss was amongst the celebrity guests and made an appearance on stage when accepting the award on behalf of the David Bowie for Best British Male. Bowie became the oldest artist ever to receive a Brit at the age of 67 and other award winners included Bastille and Bruno Mars.

The 2014 Brit Award show was brilliant and intrigued a whole range of viewers across the globe as it was officially broadcasted live to the whole world. Also for the first time ever, the night included the first ever social vote for the award of British Video via twitter which of course One Direction went on to win with their huge international fan base.
